Our video series continues with the second video in our Safe Online Banking series about Viruses and Malware. You know those annoying viruses that just won’t leave your computer alone? Criminals have realized there is money to be made by placing viruses and malware on your computer.
The Bad guys make money by tracking you while you do your online banking, stealing your banking login and information. Viruses are much more covert these days. Learn the steps you can take to protect yourself, your banking information and your money.
To protect yourself from viruses and malware:
- Install Ant-virus / Anti-malware (see below for suggested free solutions)
- Set it up so that it scans and updates itself periodically. This is important because viruses are constantly changing.
- Automatic updates
- Make sure your computer is set to update itself with the latest patches
- Turn on your firewall
- Firewalls protect your computer against unwanted traffic from the internet. Make sure yours is turned on!
